PHASE 4

SUMMER 2023

In the fourth phase engagement for Richmond Connects from June to October 2023, the team identified transportation-related recommendations for 17 Needs Areas. They used needs analyses, public input from previous phases, and collected plans from various entities. Between 7 and 16 recommendations were chosen for each area, prioritizing under-invested ones. Equity-based needs guided the selection.

A survey was the primary tool for public feedback, focusing on project priorities. Efforts were made to include diverse voices, particularly through in-person outreach to Communities of Concern. The team also conducted a Focus Group to understand non-mappable needs. Engagement activities included online surveys, in-person events, social media, and utility mailers. The goal was to ensure a comprehensive understanding of community priorities.

Connecting with the Community

The Richmond Connects team was on the move from July through September 2023, bringing surveys to meet Richmonders where they are!

Our outreach focused on hearing from people who experience the most transportation barriers, especially in the Southside, East End, and Northside.
