An equity-centered process to identify and prioritize multimodal transportation projects and programs in the City of Richmond.
Past transportation decisions have created injustices that have harmed people of color, low-income communities, and other marginalized groups of people. These injustices and the burdens they place persist today.
Richmond Connects is the process to develop the City’s strategic multimodal transportation plan. It’s focused on equity and will work towards healing past injustices by elevating the voices of people harmed in the past.
Participants have a choice and will make decisions that mold the outcomes of the process.
Richmond Connects will result in:
A STRATEGIC MULTIMODAL TRANSPORTATION PLAN
A Strategic Plan that identifies projects and strategies to make transportation in Richmond more equitable, based on a rigorous equity-centered data analysis and equity-focused community engagement.
A NEAR-TERM ACTION PLAN
A near-term Action Plan with specific next steps for implementing the highest priority projects and strategies over the next five to 10 years.
A LONG-TERM SCENARIO PLAN
A long-term Scenario Plan that will guide transportation investments into the 2050 planning horizon.
